biography:

Karina's passion for dance began at a young age, starting her competitive training at just 4 years old and graduating from Elite Danceworx in Markham, ON. She has extensive training in jazz, tap, ballet, acro, contemporary, modern, and commercial dance. Currently, Karina is a choreographer and drop-in instructor at O.N.E., which she fondly considers her second home. She is also pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University.

Throughout her competitive dance career, Karina had the privilege of learning from renowned choreographers such as Travis Wall, Mandy Moore, and Will Loftis. Her hard work and dedication earned her numerous awards and scholarships, including those at the Dance Awards in New York (2011, 2013, 2014). She performed with the Toronto International Ballet Theatre (2012) and appeared in the TV series The Next Step (2016).

After graduating high school, Karina choreographed and competed on the Wilfrid Laurier University Competitive Dance Team (2016-2020), where her choreography received several awards and overalls. Karina is a member of La Compagnie de Danse (Cynthia Aguiar), performing in various shows. She has also been featured in several music videos, including local London artist Texas King (2024) and Icelandic artist Tilbury (2023).

Beyond her academic pursuits, Karina finds immense joy in using dance as a means of expression and creativity. She is thrilled to share her knowledge and passion with the O.N.E. family.
